Breakfast
Breakfast is, of course, included in your room charge (see Tariffs & Reservations) and is served in the Conservatory or the Dining Room at a time of your choosing - but not later than 9.00am on weekdays or 9.30am at weekends and Bank Holidays).

Cooked to order:  There’s no need to choose what you want to eat until you sit down at the breakfast table. You can decide on either ‘full English’ or Continental – or any combination in between – and we will prepare it ‘to order’.

The attached sample menu gives you an idea and, with the exception of kippers (2-days’ notice required), almost every item is available almost every day.Whenever possible, we prefer to buy local and fair-trade produce.  Please also see Arrival and Departure times).

Special dietary requirements:
Please let us know when you make your booking if you have and special dietary requirements. We will do our utmost to meet your needs.

Tea/coffee-making facilities:
Your room is equipped with a kettle and a selection of teas and coffee together with complimentary biscuits. Fresh milk is supplied on your arrival. We do ask guests not to eat ‘take-away’ meals in the bedrooms but, if you prefer to have a ‘take-away’ meal, please feel free to ask for plates and cutlery and to eat in the conservatory or dining room.

Evening meals:
From the gastronomic delights of the Michelin-starred restaurant, The Harrow, (almost literally on the doorstep of The White House – well, 200 yards), there are a number of good pubs/restaurants in the area to which, if you prefer not to drink/drive, we can arrange transport to and from (see Transport).

Alternatively, by prior arrangement, we can usually but not always provide a 2-course or 3-course supper ‘en famille’ or privately – whichever you prefer (see Tariffs Evening meals).

We are not licensed to sell alcohol but guests are welcome to bring their own drinks if required or to choose from a selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
